Fair warning, this is a massive post with picture overload! I am well over due yet again. But we've been so busy that I've barely been on the computer. We are on the countdown to baby time and have had so many projects that we wanted and needed to get done before Mayci graces us with her presence. So in no particular order, this is what we've been up to.
Our side yard is slightly improved thanks to Pete and the missionaries day of hard labor, and thanks to Nic for getting us a sweet deal on the gravel. It went from ugly nothing growing to gravel and pavers, soon to have whiskey barrels full of shade plants and flowers to pretty up the side of our house. (baby steps!) This picture was a bad time of day and doesn't really do it justice, but you get the idea!
Next up I just wanted to share what the excessive amount of rain has actually been good for. I had to find something good to say about it because in reality I have been hating the depressing rainy weather and am so glad this week has been beautiful. But rainy days make for flourishing gardens, look at my garden grow! It's only been a month since we planted! It's a beautiful sight, I love home grown vegies...I can't wait!
This is my one of many current projects. This is the crib quilt for Mayci's room. It is slowly getting done. If any of you have mad quilting skills and the desire to quilt stop on by, I'll take all the help I can get!
This is my all but finished nursery. It's awaiting curtains, which I'm not exactly sure how I'm gonna do, and of course the quilt. Also I plan to paint a cherry blossom tree on the closet. We'll see what gets done in the week and a half I have left! PS I have hung the pics above the crib since this pic, and also I put her name in vinyl lettering with green frames above the dresser. It's so cute! The polka dot walls were Brandy's creation and I love them. Thanks to Nic and Brandy and Hollie for all the help with the nursery. I love it!
This dresser idea was inspired by April. Well sorta, I had planned to repaint it but April inspired adding hardware, which made all the difference. It was a $5 yardsale purchase. Again I forgot the before pic, but you can see from the back of the drawers what it looked like...boring! Now it's what's called "exotic" pink and I adore it!
A big Julander Family event....Uncle Tay Tay (aka Taylor) and Jenni's wedding. We got lots of cute pictures, and I couldn't pick, so I'm sharing them all! Sorry!
This is probably our last chance for a family pic with Pete's grandma Anderson. She's getting up there in age, and her health has not been great. Infact Pete barely recognized her at the wedding because she is so thin and frail. She's a great lady, I wish my kids could get to know her better.
Another day of face painting, courtesy of Brandy, while Nic and I prepped the nursery for painting polka dots!
I just love this picture, had to post it! Look at those blue eyes and killer grin!
Another couple of pics I couldn't pass up. Dal being cute as normal, and Ragan sportin' her new crown. I have to put a plug in for these crowns, they are bendable, not breakable, and only a dollar at Joanns. Ragan is constantly breaking the cheap plastic jeweled crowns that we usually buy at Walmart! Hopefully these sequined beauties will last a bit longer. I splurged and bought three, that way she can share and if one breaks we'll have a spare!
And last but definitely not least, who can pass up a free sandbox? Pete's uncle does vinyl fencing and gave us free scraps to build the box. Then we found free sand on KSL. The kids loved helping Dad build their sandbox, and spend an hour or two at least, daily in this new toy. I hope the novelty doesn't wear off, I have gotten a lot done! Including this blog post today! I love warm weather and free toys!
