I've been feeling rather domestic the last week or so. Not so much cleaning and laundry, but cooking and food aren't so revolting anymore! This is what we did today for an after school snack. It's called a Banana Bug-apillar and my kids could not wait to make it when we found it on a cooking website! It was quite the tasty little treat!
I also had another food adventure today, which I probably won't be repeating. On one of the recipe blogs I was browsing it suggested buying a rotisserie chicken once a week and using the meat for one of your chicken meals during the week and using the bones and skin to make your own chicken broth to freeze for future use. I thought that sounded like a fabulous idea until I actually started pulling apart the chicken. There is a reason I don't like to eat meat from the bone!!! I especially don't like hearing the bones crackle while pulling off the drumsticks and wings! VOMIT! Not a good plan for me. Pete's lucky if he can get me to touch raw chicken or cut off the fat, but I do believe this might have been worse! Yuck. So in the future we will still be buying the rotisserie chicken, but the pulling it apart will definitely be a Honey Do Lister!!!
(I did enjoy making the broth and it made my house smell fantastic!)

Those bug-apillars look delicious! I'm glad food's not so revolting anymore. :) Too bad about the throwing up though. :( That really is a good idea about the chicken.
I do this with chicken and turkey when I get ambitious. It does work really well. It makes dinner so much faster to already have cooked chicken.
My kids would freak out (in delight) if I let them make those worms. Maybe next week.
You are one creative kid!!!
Yummy!!
Thanks for your sweet comments on my blog!
CONGRATULATIONS on your pregnancy. . . ready for baby #4 huh?? That number makes me a little nervous. Hope you keep feeling better and better.
Such a cute idea! Addison said she is so excited to make it as long as it's not a real caterpillar.
